Causes and Protection of Ship Rust
Time:

Source:
1. Water oxidation
Water contains oxygen, and when water comes into contact with a metal surface, the oxygen reacts with oxidizable species on the metal surface to form an oxide layer.
2. Seawater corrosion
Salts and other impurities in seawater can increase the rate of corrosion of metals. In addition, the waves and temperature changes encountered by ships at sea can also cause damage to the metal surface.
3. Electrochemical corrosion
Metal surfaces contact each other to form an electrochemical reaction system based on temperature, position and material. This system will form various reactions, one of which is the battery reaction, which will cause corrosion and eventually rust on the metal surface.
