FAQ
Ship's equipment means any movable but non-consumable item used on a ship, other than ship's spare parts. It mainly includes rudder equipment, anchor equipment, mooring equipment, towing equipment, lifting equipment, life-saving equipment, closing equipment, piping system, outfitting parts, bilge water system, ballast system, daily water system, fire fighting equipment, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, etc.
① Use high-pressure water or high-pressure water sandblasting with a pressure of up to 500 kgf/cm to clean the hull and remove rust, and the rust removal speed reaches 2000 m/h;
② The hull shall be painted by high-pressure airless painting method with a pressure of 200 kgf/cm. If the climate is humid, the hull shall be dried with hot air, and the spraying speed shall reach 4000 m/h;
③ The method of segmental and piecewise prefabrication is adopted to change the plate of the hull, and the daily plate change of a single ship reaches 30~40 tons;
④ The divers operate tools such as hydraulic rotary brush or pneumatic rotary brush to clean or overhaul the hull underwater, so as to solve the difficulty of repairing large ships without large docking, and can be carried out at the same time as loading and unloading goods, so as to reduce the loss of suspension caused by docking;

The annual repair is also called minor repair, once every 1-2 years. The annual repair interval for passenger ships and refrigerated ships should be shorter, while that for ordinary cargo ships and barges can be longer. The annual repair of the ship shall be carried out in the dock of the shipyard (see dry dock, floating dock) or on the platoon. The annual repair is mainly for maintenance, such as removing attached marine life and repainting the hull, checking the propeller and rudder, measuring the clearance of the tail shaft, grinding the submarine valve, checking the main engine for lifting the cylinder, etc. Annual repair is generally carried out in combination with annual inspection (see ship inspection). Surveyors conduct general appearance inspection on more than 20 items such as hull, safety, life-saving, fire fighting, lifting and other equipment, as well as power plant, electrical and communication navigation equipment. If defects are found, repair will be carried out so that the ship can maintain the technical conditions for safe navigation before the next annual repair.
Overhaul once every 4~6 years, that is, once after 2~3 years of repair, the repair scope is larger than the year of repair, with preventive nature, also in the shipyard or ship row. Maintenance is generally combined with special inspection, by the surveyor of the hull and the ship's main equipment, a total of more than 40 items of inspection, measurement, testing. According to the inspection results, those items that may affect safe navigation by the next overhaul shall be repaired to ensure the service life of the ship.
Voyage repair is referred to as voyage repair. Before the year-old repair or overhaul, the ship repair yard will send personnel to the ship docked at the dock, anchorage or sailing to assist the crew to eliminate temporary faults and make the ship continue to operate.
Accident repair is a repair to eliminate the damage caused by the accident after the occurrence of a collision, grounding, fire and other accidents or machine damage. The extent of damage to the ship caused by the accident and the scope of repair shall be inspected and appraised by the ship inspection agency.
Conversion repair is the modification and repair works carried out to improve the performance of the ship or change the purpose of the ship. Such as the extension of the hull, the ordinary ship to a special ship, the power equipment from the steam engine to diesel engine and so on. Changes involving the basic structure and main parameters of the ship shall be designed in advance and approved by the ship inspection agency.
In the process of operation, the ship is often affected by various external forces, coupled with the influence of human factors, deformation and damage will occur, so that the ship loses its normal technical condition. The reasons are roughly as follows.
1. External force The ship is constantly subjected to bending stress and torsional stress on the waves because it is often in the state of motion such as lifting, swaying and turning.
2. Corrosion Corrosion of metals is a natural loss that occurs all the time.
3. Human action Due to the improper use and management of the ship by human beings, accidents such as sea damage occur. The above are physical damage, which can be restored to the normal technical condition of the ship after repair.
4. Invisible loss Due to the progress of science and technology, the technical condition of the ship becomes obsolete and backward, and needs to be rebuilt, renewed or scrapped.
Due to the above reasons, the ship in the process of operation, produce different degrees of loss and damage, affect the normal technical condition of the ship, but also gradually affect the normal operation of the ship, to the safety of the ship. Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate these defects through repair, maintain and restore its normal technical condition, and prevent the continuous loss and damage of various components of the ship.
